
Age 61, passed away April 22, 2005 at his home after a
year long struggle with stomach cancer. Rudi was born November 4, 1943 in Planitz,
near Dresden, East Germany. At 16, he escaped with his family into West Germany.
A year later they immigrated to the U.S. settling in Menlo Park, CA where he
completed high school at Menlo Atherton. He received his undergraduate degree
in zoology at BYU and went on to dental school at UCSF. In 1968, he married Leslie
Leigh and attained his DDS in 1970. He established his dental practice in Palo Alto,
where he lovingly served his patients for 34 years. His peers and patients respected
him for his exceptional dental work and his gentle technique. His talents included
all aspects of home renovation and design, skills which he and his wife honed through
37 years of marriage. He loved soccer, sports cars, motorcycles, and most of all
spending time with his kids. Rudi lived a life of perpetual service to his family,
church and community. Surrounded by loved ones, he gently returned home. He will be
missed by his mother Gertraut Neumarker; his eternal companion Leslie; his five
children: Nicole, Melissa, Todd and wife Valerie, Joshua and wife Laura, Margan;
and four grandchildren: Brynnlee, Ella, Marek and Riley Neumarker.
